Welcome to Thornlie Swimming Club.
Hi and welcome back!!!!
A BIG thankyou to those parents who have volunteered once again to serve on the committee and welcome to those parents who have taken on a position for the first time. We hope you enjoy the experience!!!
The Committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Creche at Gosnells Leisure World from 7:30pm until 8:50pm everyone is welcome, new ideas are always welcome and if you would like to have a voting say then please feel free to join the Club as a non-competitive member.
Our Spring Carnival Long Course Meet is on again this year in October, this has proven to be a very successful meet for the Club in the past and I hope this year will be just as successful. To make our meet such a success I ask that everyone pitches in and helps out “all hands on deck” even if it’s selling raffle tickets, timekeeping or serving refreshments.
We’re heading back down to Albany again this year – this meet is a great event with loads of swimmers attending and it’s also a wonderful time of “bonding” for the swimmers and parents at the Saturday night barbecue.
CONGRATULATIONS: - During the 2007/2008 season the Club hosted a Shell Novice Meet for junior swimmers who were either new to the sport of swimming or who had not achieved AA State Qualifying Times. This meet proved to be very successful and the Club was recently recognised at the Swimming WA Swimmer of the Year Awards where the Club received a Certificate and a cheque for $500.00 congratulating us on achieving the highest number of entries overall. Thankyou to all those members who helped out with the organising and the running of this event. Let’s hope we can do it again this season.!!!
I wish everyone a successful year both in and out of the pool.
