History of Thornlie Swimming Club
Thornlie Swimming Club commenced in 1968, a year after Gosnells Leisure World was built.
The founder of the Club was Maureen Taylor who with the help of Gordon L'Estrange as coach, began our long association with Gosnells Leisure World and the many children who have swum with our Club.
The motto of our Club has always been "Supporting children in swimming" and to this day that is what we hope to achieve, encouraging swimmers to be thier best whether at Club level, State, Nationals or even Olympic level!
2008 sees Thornlie Swimming Club going into it's 40th year as a Club and we celebrate this and hope to continue for another 40 years.
