Thirty four West Australian swimming athletes will embark on Sydney for the 2010 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships at Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from 16th to 21st March 2010.
Winter Almanac Order Form 2010

Swimming WA is now taking orders for hard copies of the The 2010 Winter Almanac. The Winter Almanac will be designed in a new user-friendly format and will also be available online for downloading for those that don?t wish to purchase a hard copy. If a hard copy version is preferred there will be a small fee of $5.00 per Almanac due to the costs associated with design and printing.

2010 Team WA Open Presentation Evening

Swimming WA hosted a Team WA Open Presentation Evening at the Department of Sport and Recreation on Friday 5th March 2010 to recognise and reward our swimmers who are competing at a national level.

Swimming WA is pleased to be running the Primary School Relays this April the 1st,2010 at the Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre. Due to budget requirements and development expectations the event will only be going ahead if 10 Primary Schools take part and a total of 120 entries are received. Please find more information under Development/Club Development. Make sure your Primary School enters this fantastic event!

The 2010 Indian Ocean All Stars Challenge will be held on the 3rd and 4th April 2010 at Challenge Stadium. Entries Closed
The 2010 International Coaching Conference will be held on Monday 5th April at the University of Western Australia. Entries close 22nd March.

Go Club PB

The Go Club PB program is up and running for 2010. This initiative is a great way for clubs to assess their strengths and weaknesses, gain credibility and status and increase your productivity and efficiency. There are also great incentives such as visits from Australian representative swimmers and coaches, ten randomly selected cash grants of $500 for participation in the program, and eligibility for the Telstra Assistance Fund of up to $5000 worth of equipment. Clubs will receive information directly from Swimming Australia very soon, but if you have any questions in the mean time please contact SWA Development Officer Sam Hunt

The 2010 Australian Open Water Championships concluded at Nagambie Lakes on Sunday 21st February. WA swimmers had a strong presence at the championships with some fantastic swims from WA?s up and coming open water competitors.

As members will be aware, our current Executive Director, Mr David Toll will be departing Swimming WA on Friday 29th January to take up residence in New South Wales due to change of family circumstances. In the ensuing period while the recruitment of the replacement Executive Director is completed and he/she takes up the position, there will be no changes to Swimming WA policies, procedures and office operations.
Ms Laura Reid will be the acting Executive Director during this period and David will be providing remote assistance to Laura and the Board over the next 6 weeks. Please be tolerant of the Board and Office staff in this period of change.

Twenty Swimming WA athletes aged from 13 years right through to 17 years and two club head coaches were chosen based on their performance at the SunSmart State Age Championships back in December 2009, to represent their home state of Western Australia as part of the Indian Ocean All-Stars Tour of Kuala Lumpur.

The proposed SWA National Age Quality Meet has now been opened up to Open/Age Group swimmers, providing they meet the qualifying time as stated in the Almanac.
The swim meet will now be called the ?SWA National Quality Meet' to be held on 6-7 March 2010.

The SWA Stroke Extravaganza scheduled for 6-7 March 2010 has been cancelled. The SWA National Age Quality Meet scheduled for 13-14 March 2010 will now replace the Stroke Extravaganza Therefore the SWA National Age Quality Meet will now be held on 6-7 March ? this is the last chance to acquire a Australian Age Qualifying time. Closing date for Australian Age entries is 22 March 2010 ? ?on-line? entry information is now available on the Swimming Australia website. Any swimmers that have transferred since 27 December 2009 will have to swim ?unattached?.
